Kolkata formerly Calcutta is over 310 years old and Job Charnock-a British agent is regarded as the founder of kolkata. It is located in Eastern India on the banks of river Hoogli and is one among the four metropolitan cities of India. Kolkata served as the capital of India during the British Raj until 1911 and called by the British Raj as “The Jewel of the East”. Now it is capital of West Bengal a state of India.
